Not everyone is suitable for laser vision correction. If your prescription is very high or your cornea isnt' thick enough for LASIK, PRK, SMILE Pro, an ICL can achieve similarly sharp vision without needing to reshape or thin the cornea at all. It is also removal at later stage, making other option such as refractive lens exchange and cataract surgery possible.

No. Numbing eye drops are used throughout the procedure, and most patient describe only mild pressure during the first 2 - 3 days post surgery. The majority of people have it done under general anaesthesia.

Vision is often noticeably clearer within a day, with full settling over the following one to two weeks. Most patients return to normal activities within a few days (5 - 7 days).

You will have to apply topical eye drops for several weeks post-surgery. There will usually be at least two post-surgery visits.

It is designed to be long-term but is also removable or exchangeable, since no eye tissue is removed to fit it - unlike laser procedures, which permanently reshape the cornea.
